Here is my advice to every tektopia player: as you hire villagers for the first time, hire 2 farmers to get fine amount of crops, 1 chef to cook food and increase the happiness. 1 lumberjack to cut trees to provide charcoal for chef and at last a bard to keep everyone more happy. In this way villagers may work just fine and efficiently.
