One way you can easily cheese barako: get far away from him, but high enough so his minions can’t reach you, and close enough so you can shoot him with arrows. Then put a 3×3 roof of any block above your head so he can’t use his sun strike against you (you’re too far for his other attacks) and snipe him with arrows. But make sure you’re behind him or he’ll use his sun beam to knock you off.

you can get the sun’s blessing by trading gold blocks with the sun chief, and spears by trading gold ingots with the normal barokoa. the reason the sun’s blessing wasn’t working is because you need to right-click with an EMPTY hand. you were doing it with the “recieve sun’s blessing” item. when you were using the geomancy talisman you could see the sun’s blessing working, when you summoned the boulder, it also summoned a sun strike from the sun’s blessing. also if you shif-right click with the sun’s blessing, it shoots a massive beam in front of you, but it reduces the sun’s blessing effect by 5 minutes. just felt like i had to help with the parts you missed 🙂
